Situation – We were hired by a global payments company relied on by financial institutions, corporates and governments to provide high availability and resilient payment solutions. It is currently reviewing its processes and its way of delivering projects. A number of challenges were identified around an inconsistent delivery framework, time taken to deliver projects due to inconsistent templates and no clearly defined Roles and Responsibilities.
Action – We worked closely with the CEO, Director for Special Projects and a number of Stakeholders within different parts of the business. We organised a number of Stakeholder Engagement sessions with key decision makers. We documented the existing AS IS process for delivering projects. Once completed, we facilitated a number of high profile workshops to run through the AS IS process and churn out a TO BE process. We also pulled together a Service Delivery Lifecycle Framework. This helped us agree on the Funnel Entry Process for all Opportunities coming into the business before they are delivered as projects, the different Governance Forums, teams involved and clear Roles and Responsibilities.
Impact – There is now a smooth handover of information from Sales / Product about the Opportunity to enable the Project Management team deliver projects with sufficient information, well documented guidelines and processes. There is a clear Delivery Framework for all projects be it Small, Standard or Significant projects. This has now created a positive impact on the company allowing projects to deliver within the agreed time, quality and cost.
